Cold Hands, Warm Hearts!

I absolutely LOVE coordinating weddings for awesome couples. I love getting to meet them for the first time, where we chat about our lives for awhile, before even beginning to talk about the wedding. When I met Jillian and John, I felt like I was having coffee with my old college friends! I found out they temporarily lived in Germany (um, I'm a travel junkie if you didn't already know that) because John is a professional wheelchair basketball player. Oh, yeah... and he's Australian so he has the coolest voice ever. They gave me tips for my next trip to Germany, we talked travel for a good 30 minutes, and I found out I had a lot in common with them. I definitely had to tell my husband Anthony all about my cool new clients when I got home.

Jillian and John's wedding was set to take place at The Sanford House in Arlington, Texas, which is a cute little bed and breakfast with a courtyard that is perfect for a small wedding. Their invitation suite was simple and beautiful, with delicate details. Jillian opted for very simple bouquets, to enhance the natural beauty of the courtyard garden.

Despite the rain forecast on this November day, we ended up having a dry, sunny ceremony. One thing I'll never forget is the sight of these two doing "rock-paper-scissors" for who gets to do vows first. If that's not laid-back, then I don't know what is!

Being November, we anticipated the evening getting a little chilly. The couple opted to have purple and gray fleece blankets for guests that needed a little warm-up. But that's not all- they also provided hot cocoa and German Gluhwein! For those of you who aren't familiar, Gluhwein is basically hot mulled red wine with mulling spices! I'm a huge fan of Gluhwein, so naturally I had to taste-test it... for quality purposes. Check out this great recipe for a chilly night!

Everyone danced the night away, even Uncle Jerry- the officiant! We ended the night with a delicious s'mores station and a romantic flower petal sendoff.

This couple was so much fun to work with- and don't even get me started on their families! I could've booked a room at the B&B and spent the entire weekend hanging out with everyone because they were all so fun, welcoming, and easygoing. I was almost ready to plan a trip to Australia to visit John's Mum.

Jillian and John- thank you for being my dream clients!

Of course, a great day like this couldn't have been possible without an amazing vendor team. It makes work so much easier when you get to work with genuinely kind vendors. I've listed links to their websites below.
